Rating System...

We do not rate books by how good we think they are. Our ratings are intended to help people choose appropriate books for themselves. The system is based on the general one for movies: G= general audiences, PG= parental guidence, PG13= not for those under 13, R= not for those under 18, and a special category, PG16, for books that fall between PG13 and R. We choose ratings based on violence (v), explicit sexual content (x), and mature or confusing subject matter (b). Special notations about any of these three categories (such as "v-torture") may also be given, but this is not guarenteed.

Note to anyone dissatisfied with the system in any way: We are private individuals making private judgements about our experiences. We have no general guidelines other than those noted above. If you have a specific problem with a specific rating, please Email Raven, and I will be happy to discuss it with you if you are polite. Thank you.

The one exception to this rule is Roberto, who has decided to rate his books on a scale from 0 to 5 stars. Again, his ratings are based purely on his own enjoyment of the books in question and he prefers that you still read the full review rather than relying on these numeric judgements.
